The women I have seen so far have been impressive it's physically a lot harder for them, and the equipment is often sized awkwardly. The 3 hour limit in the first season when the competitors had never seen the show seemed a lot tougher than in the last season, when every smith has a really clear idea of what they are in for. Some of the early eliminations were sad, J.D., etc.

Sadface.Īlso, the embryonic "It can cut", "It's a killer" variants of Doug's catchphrases! Fun to see it evolve into the iconic phrasing of S6.Īwful lot of episodes come down to two great blades, that was nice to see The early seasons are missing the "It's not what your blade does the the, but what the does to your blade" spiel. Order of challenges seems to have changed up, with the strength test moving to first in the later seasons? The contraptions for testing sucked, much prefer the hand beatings At least someone moved on while missing parameters - this shocked me.

The show was a lot less structured in the beginning. Burt Foster just showed up for the first time, and he is a hoot. So I am now through around S2E7, patiently waiting for the first Ben episode the season promo has him looking so young it cracks me up. So I end up on History, where (so far) all of seasons seem to be available. Then I looked on Hulu, but the first 2 seasons are missing. I went looking for BTJ, as I had heard good things, and was able to buy the 8 BTJ episodes from Google Play, really enjoyed those (and hey wow Dave and Ben!) Around my family's shows, I managed to watch all the episodes, enjoyed it quite a lot. So, like a lot of people, my first contact with this show was when Netflix threw S6 in my queue.
